Violet’s story started before she was even born 🫀
Diagnosed in utero with extremely rare congenital heart defects, Violet entered the world already facing more than most. She has Ebstein’s anomaly, a complex tricuspid valve condition causing severe leakage and right heart enlargement, along with pulmonary stenosis.
After countless scans, consultations, and difficult decisions, her parents and care team prepared for a high-risk delivery while also managing Jessica’s own health risks. When both mom and baby began to struggle, everything moved quickly.
Violet was born at 36 weeks in critical condition. At the same time, Jessica (Violet’s mother) was recovering from severe preeclampsia. Within her first 24 hours, Violet underwent a catheter-based procedure to open her pulmonary valve. Just days later, she had another to place a stent to help support her circulation.
After 8 intense days, both mom and baby were strong enough to head home for close outpatient monitoring.
Violet has already shown incredible strength, but her journey is just beginning. More procedures and surgeries lie ahead, and her family will be walking every step of that road with her.
Some stories remind us just how much fight can live in such a tiny heart ♥️
